What this site is. Independent editorial comparing travel eSIMs sold for Japan. We are not a mobile operator, we do not sell eSIMs, and we are not party to any contract you enter with a provider.

Affiliate disclosure. Some links are partner links, marked as such. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. It never changes your price and it does not change the order of our recommendations. The methodology page publishes the rate we earn from each brand, and the several brands we earn nothing from that are recommended here anyway.

Prices and accuracy. Every price on this site carries the date it was checked. Providers change prices, package structures and fair-use terms without notice, and at least one did so for Japan between our August and September checks. Treat our figures as a well-sourced snapshot, not a quote, and confirm on the provider's own page before you pay.

Coverage information. Coverage notes come from carriers' published maps, Japanese coverage reporting and traveler reports. We have not run our own speed tests in Japan and say so on every page that discusses coverage. Nobody can guarantee you a signal at a specific address.

No warranty. The content is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for losses arising from decisions made on the basis of this site. Your contract for any eSIM is with the provider, and their terms, refund policy and support are the ones that govern it.

Content. Text and tables on this site are ours. Quoting a line with a link back is fine. Republishing whole pages is not.
